* After high school, Karen attended Stoneybrook University where she majored in Drama
* Did not persue the stage, instead went on to put her imagination to use and penned the Morbidda Destiny series -- children's books about a witch in training
* Now lives in NYC
* Is still close to her family as well as her two best friends, Nancy Dawes and Hannie Papadakis
